Hey guys,

Im new here and was just wondering if you guys thought this was a good buy for me.  Its a 2004 Fatboy with 997 miles on it.  (yes less than 1000 miles)  It has an orange and black paint scheme my boss says he paid extra for it?  Anyways its pretty much stock except for some bags on the side.  I used to drive sport bikes but havent riden a bike in 4 years.  Thought this was a good deal plus I drive an suv every day and get killed on gas.  This would be fun and it would pay for it self in the gas I would be saving.  My boss wants $10,000 for it.  He says he paid 19k new for it.  Does that sound right?  Any info would be muh appreciated!
Thanks
Martin

Welcome, and yeah, that's a great deal imho. I'd snap it up and I don't need a bike. Love those Fatboys - a popular Harley I believe.

The price new sounds about right with special paint and bags.

Good luck. Please take a motorcycle safety course while you're at it. Even experienced Harley riders usually learn something very worth while. Skills they show you might save your hide.

Stick around and you soon be nuts like most of us.

For a Fatboy with under 1k miles 10k is the best deal you're likely to find

What's your boss's name, phone number and email address?  Does he want a cashier's check or cash?

And no, terrible deal!  Run Away!  don;t touch this one!

that's an unbelievable deal..

for some perspective.. A gal I met this weekend is selling her 2002 fatboy with 27,000 miles for $10,500.

buy your bosses bike immediately before he comes to his senses and raises the price!!

Sounds too good to be true - make sure you check it out thoroughly.  If all is kosha then don't wait till he changes his mind or finds out what he's selling is worth more than he's currently asking.  Sounds like you could end up doing very well there.

Hey guys, the bike has so little miles because my boss just never ever rides it.  I rememeber when he bought it 4 years ago.  It just sits in his garage with a battery tender and bike cover.  My boss is actually my moms boy friend i have known him for like 8 years, so I know the bike is good.  Not a scratch on it!!.  Thanks for all the feedback.  He told me if I dont want it he wants me to put it on ebay. Anyways Ill let you guys know what happens.

As far as deals go,you can`t beat it.On the professional level him being your boss you will probably ask him about a raise one of these days and he will reply,I can`t believe you would ask me that after that deal I gave you on that bike.Could be two sides to that story

I got a 2001 FatBoy with 13,000 mi. and paid $12, 000.  10K for a 2004 with less than 1,000 mi?  I'd jump on that in a heartbeat, turn around and sell it for more.  In other words, TAKE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't forget, it's due for it's first service at 1000 miles.   3 more miles to go.  Sounds like a great deal but don't let anyone fool ya.   Any money you save on gas, you'll be throwing back to Harley for more chrome and mods.   But at least your bucks won't be going to OPEC.

I hate to be a skeptic but I think this kid does not really want this Harley for himself. It is a great buy even if it has 10,000 miles. I think the Newbie wants to turn around and sell it for a profit. I hate it when something this good goes to a non-believer, a non Harley lover.

Of course if the boss is banging his mother, I guess he is entitled to steal it and make a profit.

Then again, maybe the mother is perfectly happy with the relationship and is telling the boss that he has to sell the bike because she worries about his safety. So maybe Newb has to sell it because mom won't let him keep it. There may be more to this tale than meets the eye.

haha can we stop it with the mom talk? Im not looking to spin it for a profit, if my boss wants to sell it to you guys thats fine.  Your right I have never owned a bike like this before as I have said my last bike was a sport bike.  Well it was a 2002 Hayabusa so it was also a heavy bike.  I sold that in 04.  I also am going to pass on the bike because even though its such a good deal its not affordable for me as I dont make much money (or am not in the situation where I can buy it)  One of the other guys I work with says one of his friends are interested, if he passes it up ill offer it to you guys on the forum.  I know what its like for a product to go to a person thats not a fanatic of that product.   I had a vette that i dumped a lot of money into.  After a lot of mods i had about 42k into it including the price of the car, and 3 years and 20k miles later I sold it for 20k to my best friend and that was 4 years ago and he luckily is still happy with it.  Point is with all that work i put into it I couldnt stand it going to just someone goin through a midlife crisis, I wanted it to go to a vette fanatic.
