Stock Deuce 2004 carb question
Okay - I'm here at work with no manual and no bike in the parking lot. I was going to order an air cleaner & intake kit.
I have a stock 2004 Deuce. Which carb do I have - the stock CV 40mm, or the Mikuni? I'm not EFI. There were no non-EFI Mikuni's, were there? Cannon |

I would guess it's a 40mm CV. Find the part number and check with local HD or google it.

The stock bikes normally come with a Keihin. Before you start dicking with it, read the attached article....

RE: Stock Deuce 2004 carb question
I just needed to know for the configuration of the mounting bracket. Bike is already tuned & jetted up (although it will have to be done again once I change the intake).
Thank-you for the help. Cannon |
RE: Stock Deuce 2004 carb question
+1 to D&M Custom Cycle. The kit they sent was perfect, and complete. Everything came apart and went together exactly as the instructions indicated. Very installation-friendly.
I would recommend loosely mocking things up on the bike before permanently tightening stuff down. There is extra hardware in there, to allow for the different model of bike and the position I wanted to mount the air intake. It's nice once in a while, to buy an aftermarket product that actually fits your bike, and doesn't need any "pre-modification". D&M responded promptly to all my emails, and they were helpful, friendly & courteous on the phone - even to a non-commercial distributor like me. Definately would recommend them. I'll post pics once I get the bike out in the sun. Cannon |
