Possibly.  The lift actually fixed my gauge.  Before it was coming on way too early and now it comes on with a gallon or so left which is about what I want.  Before the lift, it was coming on with a half tank left.  It will change your gauge most likely - but, to what degree, you will just have to see.

Yes,  mine came on earlier and now that I've installed 11" Progressive shocks, it comes on even earlier.  I pay no attention to it.  Keep track of the miles you ride and fill with that info in mind.  The most I rode was about 170 miles after the 2" tank lift, couda went more.  Now, I fill up around 130 miles since the 11" shocks and 103 build.  Could go more there also but that's where I usually filler up.

I went with 2 inch lift and didnt notice a change, later changed it to a 2.5 inch and still noticed no difference.
My light used to come on way early, I actually think its helped it come on later now. I go by mileage anyway.

After the 2" lift mine now comes on with 1/4 tank left (sometimes - LOL -- depends on whether bike is upright or on the kick stand). I still don't trust it much and go by the trip mileage as most others I run into do and what my dealer suggested.
