Can some of you experts advise me on what is the best practical way to get a softer front suspension modification to match the Progressive 412s I've ordered for my '07 XL1200Custom?

I need a recommendation on something I can do myself since I am handy with a wrench, unless it is complicated.  The road bumps are too jarring on an injured hand a long time healing.

If it makes any difference, sometime down the road I expect to downsize the laced 21 in. front wheel and tire to something cast and tubeless like the Roadster's.  I'm thinking that change will be mostly unnoticed.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Put in lighter fork oil so it will lessen then dampening rate and/or get Progressive fork springs as well as using lighter oil.

Cap, I did just that, I put 13.5", standard 440s on the back, progressive fork springs with the full length spacer and used BelRay 7w fork oil. The front and back wheels actually move up down on uneven surfaces.
