Default one or more problems?

first i lost turn and 4way flashers .is there a common spot to start to look for the short.

second :my volt meater is running in the red .when i shut the bike off it acts like the battery is dead. next day i try to start it ( just for s$%#s and grins) it starts up no problem then i shut her down and try to start it again ,wont turn over.

did my volt meater go south with my flashers ,and i have a bad starter relay or is my charging system gone and the lights are a diffrent problem.

this all started when the bike got wet from the rain.

thanks

Default RE: one or more problems?

Time to give ALL of your wiring a very close look.
I'd start from the battery.
check the plug from the alternator to the regulator box.
could h2o have gotten into the stator area of the primary?

It could be a ground problem, once things get wet, a little corrosion will play hell with electricals.
With the bike off put a meter across the posts on the battery to see if it reads 12 volts or better.
Start the bike and check it again with a little throttle to see if it's charging, 13+ volts. At least that will tell you if your alternator is working.

PS. I'm real close to getting on the road again....
