Default Anyone with Kury forwards question

I installed my Kury forwards yesterday, and everything went very smooth. Everything bolted right on no problem, even the shift lever after spreading it a bit with a screwdriver. I was impressed with the design and beefyness of them, throw the directions immediately in the garbage though.

Question is, is the brake lever supposed to have some movement from side to side, seems kind of sloppy to me? I torqued the S out of the allen bolt the attaches it to the mounting plate but still moves side to side a bit. Is this normal? I understand the up and down end play where the brake lever/clevis attaches via a pin but I thought it should be tighter side to side.

Thanks

Mine were not Kurakyn but they were sloppy I spent way to much time rummaging around my old washers and crap until I was able to shim most of it out. I tend to be a little OCD though

I have the Kury's and honestly have not noticed any "sloppy" play in them.

Now you have me wondering so when I ride in the morning to work, I will check it
out for ya. I do of course have the little movement on the brake due to the pin
but never thought about side to side.

I like the controls though so hopefully if there is a movement, its slight enough
to not bother me (now that I know to look for it).

Hey man .

Mine did the same thing took it out for a ride and came back to check that every thing was still in place, and was able to get the bolt to turn 2 more times and it tightend right up . been good ever since that .

not saying it is a magic cure or anything .

but mine did the same things yours are doing and i was able to get them tight no move ment at all .

good luck

I've been nothing but happy with mine and haven't noticed any sloppiness but have never really checked for it either. Now, when you say "torqued the S out of it", I assume that means you really cranked down on something vs. torqued to the high end of the recommended specs. Is that what you did? Be careful down there. I overtightened my peg mount on the right side once and managed to break the head right off the bolt. I'm just thankful the bike was sitting still when that happened...

Thanks for the replies fellas. The movement isn't too bad but there is definitelysome play side to side(1/16"+ at least). Have'nt took it for a ride yet so maybe that will shake things up bit and then I can tighten it up a bit.
