I'm wondering about the small tube that hooks upward and also comes out under the speedo.

I'm guessing it is a vent but since I'm piecing together this tank setup for my 1200n I'm definitely clueless about what everything does just yet. So my question is what is it, what does it do, and what do I need to connect it to.
I wanna say it connects from the top plate to the filler hole bung.

I see two hole in the bung this could possibly route to but I'll just ask you guys.

I got plenty of questions so unfortunately you guys will be hearing from me again

The little metal elbow is the vent for the tank. The electrical plug is for the fuel pump and the bracket is for the dash mount with speed nuts.

I'm sure of the plate and the plug but I was wondering how this little tube vents the tank??? It seems to just hook up to the top of the tank not connect to anything. Do I have to run a tube off it to something else or does it just hang out with its wang out as is.

There is a rubber tube (similar to fuel line hose) that connects to the opening on top of the plate, and is routed out the front of the console.

The part of the tube inside the tank doesn't connect to anything.

thanks for the info I'm having a bitch of a time making this tank work for me cause I have no idea how the factory configuration goes never mind mixing in the fact I need to make it work for a sportster

Now I got to wait for the fat bob plate to come in, I'm assuming it's the same as this one but with a different shape, and then figure out how to mount a street bob dash to it.

You can put a Street Bob console on if you want but I personally think the Fat Bob console is better looking. It also would be less work. That would move the ignition switch from the neck to the console. On the Dynas, once the switch gets worn, the key will fall out if the switch is turned off and the key is left in. JMHO. Good luck. BTW, you will need a hose on that vent unless your fond of gas on your unmentionables.

actually the mounts are different from one console to the other (with the S/B and the F/B anyway) I do like the fat bob console but I like the full length of the S/B console better. Also I really don't wanna change the ignition. Also I'm trying to keep the all black theme so chrome is out of the question. Thanks again guys.
