I'm in need of a backrest and was considering using a Bikers Friend or Lazy Rider bag to accomplish this and get some storage space at the same time.

My question is how well do these bags support your back?

My other option is to just buy a seat with a backrest but the bag would be less expensive and more versatile.

Needed for an 07 Street Bob with factory solo seat.

Thanks in advance for feedback.

I have the large Biker friend on a wide glide with a mid detachable sissy bar. It gives great back support. Its like a heavy duty plastic 5 gallon bucket wrapped with real nice leather. I actually used a 5gallon bucket on the bike and had my wife use a tape measure from my back to the bucket to get the proper fit. It holds more stuff than a 5 gal bucket.

I love my Bikers Friend.  The back rest is amazing once you have it.  People kept telling me to get a seat back that fits in between the driver and passenger seats.  Those just aren't my style.  The BF roll is a perfect solution.

I just got one yesterday, and XL and I'm impressed with the quality.  It's a bit to big for my FXD so I'm swapping it fot the M-L.
Like the others said the bag is rigid, and the back pads and lumbar roll are spot on.  A bit pricy but worth it.

Thanks for the replies.  Do any of you think it would provide good support without a sissy bar to rest against?
