Default '07 DELUXE FRONT END RATTLE

hay all,

Just joined a few days ago. I have a '07 Softail Deluxe - had it about a year and ever since abour a week after I picked it up it has had a "rattle" coming from the front end. I have had it back to the dealer three times - they say they found and corrected it, but after less than a mile it's back. It's most noticable going over sharp bumps.
Any help would be appreciated.

What did the dealer say they found to be the problem?

First time they said it was my high beam headlight filiment that broke and was ratteling around - lol. I did get a new headlight out of the deal.
The second time they said sit was my exhaust pipes - still no cigar. The third time I had it in fora dyno run and they test rode it for almost 100 miles - said they didn't hear a rattle? It's still there; I'm just wondering if anyone had a similarproblem so I could give these guys a service bulliten # to check.

Rattle... is it a rattle or a clunk on bumps?
If a clunk, probably your steering head is not torqued properly.
If a rattle, check the bolts on your seat rail... I had a loose one and the washer rattled like heck.
Check your pipes to be sure they aren't rubbing anything.
Check your cables aren't routed weird.
just go over everything with a wrench... no need to torque on anything, just see if anything is 'finger tight'

Bin there done that, even changed pipes - still rattles. I canreplicate the noise when the bike is standing still by "working" thefront end up and down. It sounds like a click every time the front end is compressed, but when at speed over sharp bumpsit's a rattle.I could tear into the front end myself, but the bike is still under warrantee.

Had the exact same problem on the wifes 07 Deluxe, had it to the
dealer 2 or 3 times, ended up relplacing the front forks, problem
solved. Haven't had a rattle since and it's been over a year and
around 5,000 miles since they cahanged the forks.
Hope this helps.

Maybe it's the washer in the steering head?? I just had mine replaced with Part No. 45740-07 per Technical Service bulletin M-1215A and it fixed the problem. I thought this was a Dyna thing, but when I looked again at the the bikes affected, your 07 Softail is included.
