Default Wind screens

Need opinions on wind screens. Just bought and installed a Wind Vest. Right now, I'm not really happy with it, I'm still adjusting and trying to find that sweet spot. It's a 14x14 and may not be wide enough and don't know the 16x16 would be much better. I like how sturdy the mount is and the finish is top notch. Problem?? Just get to much side wind buffet/turbulence. On the other hand, it's been windy the past few days.

Doesanyone here use the Wind Vest?

I use a windvest on my '07 FXD, it's great! I can cruise at... well beyond the limit and it's rock-solid.

If you're expecting the protection of a fairing, you won't get it from a windvest. But try riding 100 miles at 75-80mph with no windshield, then put the windvest on and try it, then you'll see the difference - particularly in how fatigued you are!

I do sometimes wish I had the protection of a fairing or a larger windshield, but most of the time I'd rather be small and fast.

I hear ya, I'm experimenting with making a set of side wings for that screen. 3.5" wide by 7.5" long and contoured to blend with the screen.

Try turning the mounting brackets upside down, it gives you a few more ways to adjust it. Also try different angles. I had to experiment with mine before I was happy with it. Finally got it just right and couldn't be happier.

Silvrbill

Good idea! Didn't even think of that, guess it's because it was to easy, ifyaknowwhatimean! Still playing around with it and if it weren't so damn windy the last few days it likely wouldn't take so long! Thanks for that tip!
