Default xied's or ied's

which one should I use the Xied's or the ied's on my bone stock 08 Ultra ? Someday I might change pipes or air cleaner but maybe not. I have read alot of the posts and it seems that either one will do the job. I want the bike to run cooler but gas mileage is a concern also.

I have s stock 08 RK. I went for the XiED and V&H slipons (not that I needed them for the XiED) and will get a K&N air fliter. There is no need to do ANY alteration when getting XiED's. The XiED's are a step up from the iED and provide more engine cooling not to mention better low level throttle response and performance (richer mixture). I have not been disappointed so far and these took 5 minutes to install.

Because of the lowers and the extra weight, I believe Steve suggests the XIED's. Your also covered future mods.

So do you guys think I could safely run rinehart true duals with BCT baffles and a AN big sucker on a 08 sg with just the xied's? I want to wait on a dyno tune until the new TTS harley tuner comes out ( and I find a good dyno guy to tune it). Will I be safe to run it like that for awhile? Thanks.

I'd say yes LUBA. For the amount of time you spend in open loop, you should be fine untill Steve Cole gets it too market. Just make sure you get the XIED's.

so what you all are saying is that I could run the Xied's with any set up that I might run ? like true duals, air cleaner, and I wouldn't need a SERT, Fuel Pak etc. ?

Sorry I missed the TD part. They are a different animal. HD doesn't have a TD map for the touring set ups. I'm running the FP for the open part of the map and XIED's for the closed portion.

I should've caught that.

Look here...post #11. It's too much for me to re type.
