Default Question about a Mobile 1 product...

I decided to use Mobile 1 15w-50 for my most recent oil change. After riding around to three different stores (including Walmart), I finally found a place with the stuff in stock... but only in the quart containers. No big deal.

Well I must have been in a hurry when I finally found a store with 15w-50 in stock, because I ended up purchasing the "Extended Performance" version of the Mobile 1 15w-50.

After performing my oil change... that's when I noticed. I was hoping that this was just a packaging change, but I checked Mobile's website and it confirmed that these are two different products:

Mobile 1 15w-50 (what I meant to purchase)

Mobile 1 15w-50 Extended Performance (what I put in the bike)

I'm hoping someone here is familiar enough with the two products to confirm whether or not this is no big deal, or if I need to go grab some new oil and switch it out.

I don't believe the Extended Performance version has teflon or any other additives harmful to the engine, but I do not know this for sure.

Thanks for your help.

PS - I did use the search function but was not successful in finding this information.

I wouldn't worry about it!! Honestly I think they're the same. I'd use either 1 and I'd mix em., if I had to, no biggie. I use the Mobil 1 too. Steve

You are fine with the EP. Just get the regular M1 15w50 next time.

Why pay more for oil just cause they put a bike on the bottle and call it V-twin?? Someone explain why (car) oil isn't o.k. to use! Any doubters should read
Nightriders test's on the Mobil 1 15-50 syn.(non V-twin).. My bike loves it... Steve
