Default Trask Turbo Pic's

As promised, here's the latest pic's of the scoot. My Pingel electric shift kit should be in this week along with the Idle Air Control motor to take care of the dying problem [:'(] I still have to find a good shop in Washington to take the bike in to have it dyno tuned. I took it to my local HD dealer yesterday and ran a baseline dyno run to see where I'm at. 142 hp with 98 fp torque. It's running lean across the rpm range so I tweaked the Power Commander and richened up all circuits when I got home.

Looks good. The biggest thing that turns me off about the Trask system is the required exhaust pipe though.

That pipe coming off the side just doesn't look right, and if it's hot???. With so many good exhausts, it's a shame to be limited.

NightStar - Actually, the pipe really doesn't bother the rider like you would think looking at the pictures. It's tucked in and really doesn't give off any more heat then any other exhaust system. It has a heat shield on it which reduces the amount of heat getting to your leg, so really it's not bad at all. I don't mind the exhaust and to be honest, when I'm going through the gears (quickly), I don't notice the look It wouldn'tbe too difficult to fab up a different exhaust pipe if that's the only thing holding you back from getting a Trask turbo. But, everyone has different tastes and what they like me, I'm more function then fashion. I just like going fast

So how is the sound with one of these turbo systems? I would assume at idle its somewhat muted?

02VROD - You are correct. Compared to the Rinehart's I was running, this exhaust is mellow V-Rods have their own distinct sound and with the turbo it kinda sounds like a Porsch on steroids The way the pipe is directed the sound changes when your in corners. Turning to the left it gets louder but, it is less db then the Rinehart's. Folks would complain riding along side me or if I passed them with the Rinehart's, it hurt their ears. This system should be a little more kinder to those riding with me I can tell you, in first and second gear you cannot shift fast enough. The motor hits the rev limit so quickley that I can't get the shift quick enough. I figured that was going to happen so I opted for the electric shift kit.
