Default New Member! Wide Tire Question 2003 VRSCA

Just purchase this beauty today on our beloved ebay(as long as I don't get screwed). But anyways, what's the largest tire/rim that you can put on a 2003 v-rod without a specialized kit? I believe the stock specs for this bike is 180, but this bike looks so much better with a wider tire.

You can get a HogPro240 kit that will NOT require you to change the rear fender. Bigger than that, rear skin goes. Here's link:

But I think you can put a 200 on the stock wheel but I am not absolutely sure.

Good luck and welcome to the forum and the amazing V-Rod. You will not be disappointed!

You can put a 200 on the stock rim. I originally did that and didn't need to modify anything, but some have had to trim the bely guards to make it fit. I've also seen guys stuff a 240 in there just by trimming the swingarm where the calipers sits on the notch. Add a narrown belt an pulley and it's probably the cheapest way out, but not the best. I went with a HogPro 240 kit which is a widened swingarm, offset front pulley and all of the necessary spacers to make itr work properly.

You're such a snob

The HogPro kit is SWEET, for sure. The 240 modification can be done with all HD parts:

A vrscaw rear wheel, narrow pulley, narrow belt, angle grinder with a cut-off wheel.

You will need to trim the caliper perch to clear the wheel, but the stock spacers will all fit.
