Check the obvious such as air leaks in the inlet manifold or carbs, valvue clearences and timing. May also be worth a check of the compression.

Hope this helps

How's the idle when it gets warm enough to bog? I'm thinking it could be (worst case) a piston seizing. That wouldn't show up on a compression test until it was really bad.

Had a chainsaw doing that for a long time. The fuel line had a small crack that opened up when it was warm. So, if it feels like it's leaning out, re-check your work.

Check the ignition. Are the timing weights free/lubed a little? Points gapped OK and not burnt? Condensor OK? Replace if there's any question. Check for intake leaks by spraying some carb cleaner around all the joints in the intake path. It's been a few decades since I messed with a shovelhead (THANK GOD), but I seem to recall intake leaks being rather common. Is the carb really clean now? Jets clear? S&S intermediate jets can block off and be a real biatch to clean out. And the main jet seems to clog rather fast too. Float level OK and the valve not sticking?

Also check your plunger. It may be getting to much gas when you accelerate which will instead bog you down.

FYI. When you TYPE IN CAPS it means that you are yelling. I am sure that was not your intent so please don't do it, also it is not as easy to read all caps on our end.

Are you running an external gas filter?

One other item to check is the carb slide is moving correctly and that it is opening as vacume is created.
