Default Derby Cover O-ring

I just did the 30k service on my '01 RKC this weekend and there was no O-ring on my derby cover. The service manual mentions it but does not mention a gasket. When I pulled the deby off there was a full gasket there that my indy used when he did the last service. This was the same gasket that the dealer sold me.

Am I correct in assuming that the gasket replaces the large O-ring?

Default RE: Derby Cover O-ring

o-ring is used with the standard cover, once you change you go with the flat gasket type...
