Default HD Factory Service Manual

Will everyone that is or plans to work on thier bike Please get a factory service manual FIRST. Nuff said.

I'll second that, and add...buy the factory parts book, too. It shows every part in exploded views, with part numbers. That's useful two ways - you can buy replacement parts using the correct number (not one some hack at the parts counter has looked up for you), and you can see how everything goes together when you're working on your bike, as asuppliment to the factory service manual.

I been preaching that sermon for years.
Tis the only SMART WAY to go.

Now if they would only print a factory service manual on women, WE WOULD ALL BE FAR AHEAD!

I looked at the link for the Ebay auctionfor aservicemanual that covers all the Sportster modelsincluding an XLT.
What the heck is an XLT?
I'm familiar withan XLH, XLCH, XR,XLCR and the line of K models.
But what is an XLT?

XLT (T= touring) became available 1977 and dropped in 1979.

Well, I feel like this post was for me, So I bought the manual that you have a link for. I want to thank all of you for your help. I am far from having my bike running right, but at least now I can get some issues figured out a little easier.
