Default Armour-all mistake by a detailer

Hi everyone,

My buddy had a service detail his bike and for some bizarre reason he wiped the tires down with armour-all. Unreal. Anyone know how to get that off. My only suggestion was a course brush and Mcquires Tire cleaner and on keep scrubbing.

I'd insist on a new set of tires!!!!!!!! How are you ever gonna feel confident riding the bike when that greasy stuff was on the tires. I doubt they'd get it ALL off.

I know a guy that did that to his bike for some unknown reason, taht night he promptly dumped his bike in a turn. Not sure if washing the tires with Dawn would help, it takes the finishe off your paint so I would think it would be able to get that off.

Where's the joke? Armor All will make tires slick if you get it on the tread.

To the OP: Your buddy can get the Armor All off by wiping the tread of his tires with alcohol.

I think you need a real grease cutter like lighter fluid and a brush or gas on a rag then brush it. Something harsh that will cut that stuff. Just make sure you do it out in the open air. Then maybe a scrub with some Simple green or Dawn & water.

Next time just scrub it with soapy water and stiff brisle brush.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the input. No not a joke at all. He certainly wishes it was. He got with the detailer and they are going to work something out and he is going to replace the tires. I told him its not worth his life even to chance it.

Thanks!

Using Dawn dish soap or Westley's Bleche White should take the slick stuff off.

Thanks! Done deal, new tires it is. He tried everything and it was still a little too slick on the tire.
