Default Garage flooring

I am looking at putting a coating on my existing concrete garage floor. Does anyone have any suggesstions on what the most economical and best product would be.
I want something that will be durable and good looking.
thanks!

I've used UGL's Dri-lock Epoxy floor coating on my basement wherever I can move enough stuff out of the way. Soap & water cleanup and glides as easy as an oil-base without the fumes. Not sure how it would hold up in the garage, but was cheap enough at Menard's to be worth the experiment.

I have Rustoleum epoxy on my floor. Been on for about 2 years, still looks good. Cost about $100 for a 2 car garage. Comes with everything you need. You really have to pay attention with the prep work. The epoxy wont adhere if you don't do a good job getting any oil or grease off the floor. Then you have to do an acid etch, rinse and let dry.

I just put down the RaceDeck flooring. It was easy to install, looks great and cleans up with just a paper towel. It's a lot more expensive but my floor has 25 years of grease and oil on it and I'm way to lazy to try to clean it off..

Bogie
Let me ask you something if ya dont mind? When you etch the floor its obviously because there was existing paint or whatever down the acid based solution you used did it do any damage to ouside the garage the concrete, when you hosed it off. My dilema is that I live in a condo unit I already did the floor with agarage paint that is peeling off so I naeed to acid etch it, but If the acid does damage to the concrete area or parking pad outside the garage Ill be in a load of trouble, when I hose it out of the gagare and it runs onto the ouside concret? Any help would be appreciated! Bill

I have two different concrete floors that I painted with plain old latex paint. I rolled on the base coat, then sponged on a different color or two top coat. After the paint dried, I topped it with a couple of coats of poly. It has been down for years now and still looks great. We use it and abuse it and it does not hurt it. The OL drags her treadmill and ellipitical all over it in one room and it does not hurt it. Even if you do scratch it, you can't see it. For a garage, I would likely add some fine sand to the poly to give it a grippy finish.

I did have one room that I did in to look like polished tile. I painted a grout colored base coat, then chalk lined it a 12" grid and put down 1/4" masking tape. Then, I sponged on two top coats, pulled up the tape, and put on the poly.

At any rate, you could do a double car garage for less than 100 bucks.

I would post some pics, but that ain't working...

If you do the poly, you could use latex and spray it on with a Wagner. Keep a couple marbles in the jar to keep the sand agitated, if you back up your distance a little, you could get an overspray effect for more grip.

I have also heard of people using cloth tape in their garages 12' sections
