I HAVE A 2001 SOFTAIL STANDARD WITH 20K MILES ON IT IVE NOTICED A CHATTER TYPE VIBRATION GETTING MUCH WORSE SINCE 10K MILES. FEELS LIKE CLUTCH HUB WOBBLING TO BEST DESCRIBE IT.REPLACED HUB,MAINSHAFT BEARING,CLUTCH DISCS,HUB BEARING,M6 TENSIONER,REAR WHEEL,HEAD GASKETS,LOOSEND DRIVE BELT,TIGHTENED DRIVE BELT,IF I TAKE PRIMARY COMPONANTS OUT THEN PUT BACK TOGETHER SEEMS OK FOR ABOUT 1/2 HOUR THEN RITE BACK.HAPPENS MORE UNDER LIGHT ACCEL,NO DECEL OR CRUZIN SPEED.HAVE TO KEEP MOTOR AT HIGHER RPMS TO SMOOTH OUT. LEANING TOWARDS BAD COMPENSATOR BUT UNSURE.TRANS LOOKS OK NO METAL IN OIL CAM TENSIONERS LOOK GOOD.NOW I HAVE OIL MIST COMING OUT OF SMALL OVAL SHAPE HOLE IN BACK OF MOTOR UNDER REAR CYLINDER.somebody HELP!!!!!

problem solved trans main shaft went bad all trans gears were worn out.excessive play in drive pulley side to side the shop doing my bike says third one this week!&nbsp\\; going with baker 6 speed convertion cant wait! laconia in one week.

trans worn out in 20k??? WTF? What type of oil are you using in your trans? If you are not using a 75w90 or 85w140 GL5 gear oil you better start using it. No way your trans should be worn out that soon. &nbsp\\;
