Thank you Everyone!!!!!
I had to write a post to thank all of you who have been answering my questions for 2 months, and leading me in the right direction to get my "new" ironhead running right. The final repair was a new ignition coil, reset the points gap, slightly advance timing plate, and now she is running great. I cant imagine how ridiculous I must have looked last night riding down the road. Here I am on this mean, loud harley, yet smiling like a little child. You certianly couldnt have smacked the grin off my face. I went for only a 5 min. ride, and it made all of the work worth it . I see why so many people are dedicated to keeping these machines alive. Thank you again, everyone, I could not have done it without the help all of you have given. I hope that I can return the favor for newcomers. These bikes certianly are not for someone who does not enjoy being a backyard mechanic, but for those of us who do, this is one sweet machine. I know im far from finished wrenching on it, but at least now I can ride. THANKS AGAIN!
