I just had mine done. I got a deal compared to the dealership by going with a pro that does work on the side. In the future I will do all my own services but thought it to be a good idea to have a pro do this first one. Just curious how much yall pay for 1000 mile service, those that dont do their own that is?
I just had mine done yesterday. The total bill was 329 bucks. Thankfully, when I bought the bike in Feb., the dealer had a special going on that had all the services till 20,000 miles for free! I just had to pay for the diff in synthic.
Mine was 185 using synthetic oil. The guy that did it services police bikes for a county fleet. He didnt wash it but he did do an excelent job. HD of Atlanta wanted 292+tax.
1,000 mile service included in the purchase price here. I was told that after that, the bike had to be dealer serviced for the remainder of the 2yr warranty period if I didn't want to invalidate it. (However, I do my own intermediate oil changes and other minor stuff). Due for 5,000 service soon - I was quoted £170 or £200 with synthetic. I don't know how that compares with the US?

That's gotta be bull. You might wanna check on that because that sounds like the dealership just trying to gouge you. Anyone else know if this'll void his warranty?
