What's the best price you've seen on a set of RK custom tins?

I've been looking to pick up an extra paint set (tank, fenders, side covers) for my Road King Custom. Right now it is black.

I want these for two reasons.

1. A tank alone is about $800, so I'm thinking that if I ever dent it or smash a fender, it would be nice to have a back up.

2. It might be nice to change the color of the bike in a few years.

So I'm looking for sets of either:
black
deep cobalt blue
black cherry pearl
real red
lava red

What kind of prices have you seen? What do you think I should expect to pay for a set in good shape?

It all depends on what your looking for. I have a custom Black Blue Pearl paint set on my RKC that cost me about 2600 bucks from harley, Its a Harley Color shop job and it looks great,I've seen paint sets go cheap and some sell really expensive, It just depends on what your looking for. If your interested, Maybe we could work something out. Heres a pic of my scoot! What year is your bike, The paint sets should swap over with no trouble.

Ok, but my bike is a Road King custom, so . . . .
1. would the console hole be the same?
2. my fenders are clean right now without trim, so wouldn't the set you're selling have holes for trim and skirts?
3. I can't remember, but isn't the back fender of yours set up differently? (turn signal mounts, tail light, etc).
4. Most importantly, what color set do you have? You're bike looks great, but I'm assuming that it is your original (other)set that you are selling and you didn't mention what color it was.

Thanks, but I already saw that one on ebay. I'd be interested, if it were a "better" color. I know "better" is an opinion word, but I'm just not at all interested in white. Black or Black Cherry, or cobalt are my favorites and if I'm going to spend $ I'm going to get a color I like.

That's not my ebay posting, but I managed to buy a set complete with hard bags for 1700 on ebay. Eventually I'll have them painted.

Crap,&nbsp\\; I forgot about the whole Custom/Classic difference thing,&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; The paint set I'm referring to trading is the one on the bike.&nbsp\\; The Harley Color Shop paint sets require you to send in your factory paint set and then they paint it and send it back to you.&nbsp\\; Its an expensive way to do it but the paint quality is UNBELIEVABLE.&nbsp\\; They really do a nice job.&nbsp\\; The set would probably fit but you'd have to use different turn signals and stuff and yes&nbsp\\; there would be holes where the trim and stuff is if you decided to take it off.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; So this probably wouldnt work for you.

I see sets of stock colors going on ebay for around $700, but I've heard stories of people getting them as cheaply as $300.

Anyone else ever seen cheap prices like that for a whole set?&nbsp\\; Should I keep looking for a price like that, or is it a pipe dream?
