Look out at the gas pump, we are going higher!! 8% is the biggest percentage one day gain in oil since 2000!! Oil was up $10.75 today, that is the biggest one day \\;move in histroy!
We need to be building more refineries, start drilling in Alaska and the more extensively in the Gulf of Mexico, and investing more in nuclear power. Those three will tide us over as we SERIOUSLY invest money into alternative fuel sources.
Any tree huggers who have a problem with that do not have the right to whine about gas costs, in my opinion!
In addition to the above, the Commodities and Futures markets need more legislation to stop large traders from speculating on oil in the bulk they are currently doing so. That is killing the market in a previously unforeseen way.
Why is it just fine to drill off of Texas and Louisiana but god forbid we drill off the coasts of Califonia or Florida? \\; **** that ****! \\; The time to start drilling is now. \\; Also, did you know the Chinese and Indians are going to start drilling off the coast of Cuba in the strait between Cuba and Key West? \\; Im sure they would never do sideways drilling and suck up all our oil. \\; Also, \\;any oil spent generating electricity is a wasted resource. \\; \\;Power generation should come from \\;coal and nuclear, as well as wind, water and whatever when possible. \\; \\;

Consider that price of oil has gone up 89% recently and price of gas has gone up only 27% in the same time period, most gas stations are not making any money on gas, they are relying on convenience sales to stay in business.(and if you pay with a credit card they are probably selling at a loss) I have seen a 35% increase in the cost of goods we buy(petroleum related) at work this year, not even adding the fuel surcharge everyone seems to be tacking on invoices for deliveries now. The price of gas is going to go up substantially. Of course we will see fluctuations at the pump, but overall a steady increase in price.
