After installing hack I took my son for a 15 min ride, I was beat. It’s so hard to turn. After getting back and looking at the setup in my garage I noticed that the bike has a slight lean towards the hack. And im sure when im on it /it get worse. Now I purchased the bike this was, means the previous owner rode it this way. It feels wrong. I would think the bike should be straight up/square to hack. I feel that’s why it’s hard to steer. Anyone have a similar situation?
The bike should lean out not in from the hack.Do you have a moco hack or an hd? I had a california sidecar with a tilt motor to trim it for the crown in the road (worked great)

Congrats on your new purchase! And your remarks mirror mine. \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\; I purchased 1 1998 Ultra w/ ULE Sidecar. \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\; I was not impressed after the first ride(siet unseen right on I-95 for a 3-4 hour ride home. I just knew I was gonna die. \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\; I was commited or rather I should be commited. \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\; 3-4 thousand miles later I am feeling better with egards to local under 35-45mph speed limits. \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\; I just cae back from a 800-1000 mile road trip and again I feel I looked death in the face a bunch of times. I survied every encounter from day one for one simple reason..... I read as much on the subject of proer set up and proper techbiques (with things to watch out for thrown in the mix). \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;

Below \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;are \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;\ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;a coule web page I found very helpful to me. \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ \\\\\\\\\\\\\; I hope you as well find it helpful. \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\; Take it slow and you will learn and survive sidecar ownership. \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\; Its not for everyone.

Good luck, take your time \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\;and you will be fine. \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\; Rush things and well there has already been a few disturbing stories regarding ill prepared sidecar commando's. The sidecar rider recquires different skill then 2 wheels \\;\\\\\\;as well as \\;\\\\\\;better anticipation skills then the average bike rider. \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\; In fact too many years on 2 wheels only seems \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;to hinders one to a point because driving a sidecar recquires a retraining of the whole experience.

I really don't know what I am talking about with the sidecars , BUT , try riding once on the other side of the line in the road . \\; Yeah , the wrong side of the street.  \\; I know the crown in the road can affect handling , at least on my voyager kit the crown does affect the ride a bit. \\; I actually shimmed the kit to correct the occurence. \\; But I ended up taking those shims out later , each road is different.
Again , I don't know what I am talking about , just some experience on this end ...  \\; \\;

The bike should definitely lean away from the hack. That way it tends to lift the hack. The hack should also be slightly toed toward the bike, kinda pushing the bike to the left (that counters the "pull" of the hack). Fix that and try it again. I think you will see a tremendous improvement.
Your rig should not be hard to handle, steer, etc. Three months ago I rode mine to Texas and back (2,000 miles) and had no problems, no fatique, no aching arms, etc. If you get it attached right, it makes a big difference.
On a four lane highway, the lane you ride in definitely influences the handling of the hack. I favor the right hand lane, but move into the left one now and then, just for a different feel.

i did all the adjustments i could do, there is no more turns on the bolt threads. its a lot better but it does not lean out, its straight up. it rides a lot better. i dont know whey we cant adjust anymore, its a factory installed hd hach. mayle its getting tired and thimgs are saging,worn from all there years (18).
Any chance on taking the "short" rod off and getting one made a bit longer to get the bike to lean out? \\; Or having a machine shop extend the old one.
