Contemplating my first bike in too many years (25 or so). Have gone back and forth on the HD vs Victory. Looking like an HD. Now the question? 1200 Custom or Dyna Super Glide? What should I be considering in deciding between the two. Cost difference of $2000 or so is not that big a deal, but is a factor. What else should I consider. Right now the 1200 seems to have the inside track...
I posted this in the Sportster, but suspect that may be a slightly biased group. This is probably more appropriate.
I faced a similar situation earlier this week. I was trying to decide between a Deuce and a Lowrider. Cost difference was about 2K between the bikes as well. It took me a couple of test rides, but the Deuce won out. I agree with justonemore, pick the one that fits you the best and I am sure that you will be happy either, good luck.
Both are rubber mounted for smooth operation, both have plenty of power. The Custom is going to have more chrome if that is important. The Dyna is going to be roomier, especially if 2 up, and is a better tourer. The Custom might have a slight handling advantage, if agressive riding is you thing.
I would not consider a Sportster that was not rubber mounted as I am very sensitive to viberation.
To take nothing away from the Sportster, my personal preference would be the big twin configuration.
I would ride 'em (as the others above suggested) and pick the one that felt best to me. One piece of advice...if money is not THAT big of a factor I wouldn't even consider the price difference. Pick the bike that you truly like the best or you'll regret that you didn't. You'll probably have it for awhile so it had better be your fav.
All that said, if ya' want my opinion (not sure ya' do), I'd take the Super Glide for (likely) the softer ride. JMHO, YMMV.[8D]
Pick what you like.. I have ridin both, if it were for around town, I would perfer the sportster, If it were for cruisin longer trips, ralleys and highway use I would pick the dyna. Just my opinion. Good luck, can't go wrong either way!

Both great bikes but I would go with the Dyna. The Dyna is a great riding bike. You should go ride them both tho seeing how it's gonna be yours.Good luck and you'll figure it out.
