Default Need drive belt advice.

Need to change my drive belt. Missing teeth. I have a 132 teeth belt and thinking of replacing with 136 teeth to reduce the high end RPMs. Anybody see anything wrong with this?&nbsp\\;The motor is a &nbsp\\;80in with a 96in stroker kit.
Thanks Quigley

Wouldnt that require a pulley also?

Yes it would. Planning on replacing the tranny sprocket and rear pulley as well.

OK Got you...you are just trying to create better highway gearing? Is it easier to do a primary chain and gear than a sprocket and belt?

Might be, but since I have to change the belt and sprocket anyway this would be a good time to change the gearing.

If you go&nbsp\\;two teeth bigger on the transmission and a couple smaller on the rear you probably may not need a bigger belt, maybe smaller if anything.&nbsp\\; I believe the rear pulleys change by 5 teeth and the tranny changes by 2 teeth increments.&nbsp\\; When I changed just the tranny larger it reduced the motor revs 200rpm at 60 mph, and I had enough adjustment on the rear wheel I used the same belt.&nbsp\\; might look into this before you order a new belt.

I believe that Baker's website has a calculator/chart for belt sizes, just put in pulley sizes and center to center distance and you get the answer.
