Default 1200C style headlight on Nightster

&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; I want a bullet style headlight for my nightster and have it powdercoated black and do away with the ugly visor that came from H-D. All the similiar lights I look at specify 1200C only. What is necessary to convert one of these bullet style lights to a Nightster and does anyone have any pics?

Thanks

A numer of folks have done it. Just pick up the aftermarket light you want (some you can already get in black) then drill your lower tree and your done.

Before you get it powder coated you might want to pick up the upper triple tree cover that comes on a Custom. Part Number is 68041-04.

What is the triple tree cover?

Its not like the visor I have now is it? Because I hate the look of that thing.

When you remove the headlight bracket "eyebrow" there's nothing but ugly cables underneath. Basically the front of the triple tree is not flatit is curved inward with bulged-out notches for the screw holes for the eyebrow. If you look at a xlc, you will see that the front part of the top tree is actually a separate piece that bolts on the two holes where the eyebrow alternatively bolts on. Looks much better with the cable mess covered up with the xlc tree cover although some people do not put it on for various reasons...

Remove the old headlight set up.
Get the new headlight and mounting block you want. www.denniskirk.com (Part# 212790 5 3/4 in. Matte Black/ Part# H22139 1 1/4 in. Vertical Offset & 1 in. Forward Offset Mounting Block)
Tape off lower tree, find center of lower tree and drill hole to mount the new block.
mount new light and solder wires.(or use the stock wiring, disconnect under the gas tank)
