Default Primary Chain Tensioner

What sort of miles are expected on the primary chain tensioners?&nbsp\\; How you check for wear?&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; Have 30,000 miles on my 05 Ultra.&nbsp\\; Changed fluid and wear looked like 1/8".
&nbsp\\;
Thanks,

I'd say they&nbsp\\;likely need to be replaced around 35 to 40&nbsp\\;G's. Once the wear is noticeable they seem to deteriorate faster so maybe you got another 10 G's.&nbsp\\;

Just filter your used primary oil through a coffee filter next change and see if it's coming apart. I'd probably look at pulling the cover about 50k if you get no big shoe pieces in your used oil. If you get pieces 40k. Oh yeah start cutting your engine oil filter apart &amp\\; looking for orange pieces of your cam tensioner shoes at 30k as well.
