Default Ornamental iron gate opinion?? UPDATE! Painted and installed

Some of you know I'm starting to do ornamental iron,,, this is my first gate job and of course I want it to look good, what I would like an opinion on is the scroll at the top right of the gate,, I can't make my mind up on which direction to locate it. Look at the two pics and see which way you think looks best.

I think the second picture, but I think you need to flip them from top to bottom too.

If they are two gates meeting in the center, I would go with the placement of the scroll in the bottom photograph.&nbsp\\; They look great by the way.

John, I like the top one better. There both fine and acceptable but the top scrolls seem to flow better to me. What do you use Heli Arc for that type of work? Not MIG or TIG I imagine. Id love to have the type house that needed a front gate like that &nbsp\\; Nice clean looking work!

Yes it's a double swing, so picture the other gate beside it with a 1" gap. It doesn't look that big, but the gates together are 16 feet 4 1/2 inches wide.

It's mig welding Joe thanks for the compliment,,, actually there is more than one house that will use the gate,, it's a gated community of 4000 arces,, each area within the community has it's own gate. They have some gates that are about 10 years old and they have about 8 more to build on this property, so I do hope they like my work, I made them a get my foot in the door price and the guy I'm dealing with I graduated high school with. So far so good.

John, I used to be involved slighly in testing welders, then bringing the weld coupons to be exrayed and inspected. Interesting business if the fumes dont get you
