OK...i know there are alot of smart people here. This is a question about my suzuki intruder 1400...hopefully someone can help. I lost 2nd gear. first is ok, 3rd and 4th fine, but in second, nothing..feels like neutral.

I assume I need to drop the engine and split the case to get at the problem, but can anyone think of anything that I may have a look at without getting that deep? maybe I'm missing something simple i can check, I just hate having to split the case for this. The bike has alot of miles, 130k+ or so, the clutch has been slipping a bit lately, but other than that everything has seemed fine.

My guess is a bent or broken shifter fork.
