Bike was creepin ahead a little in gear/clutch pulled in, should have left well enough alone. Downloaded easy and by the book clutch adj. Colapsed cable till handle touched bar, loosened nut, run adj screw ttill it seated, tightened nut, uncolapesd cable to appx 1/8" play. When I start bike and put in gear it is not in gear, just like nuetral. Will try to adjust again but have done it a number of times, 90's wetclutch, barnett scorpion clutch.

Try this collaspe cable \\;adjustor all the way, turn adjuster screw in till it bottoms pull on clutch a few times to set the balls on ramp. \\;Back off half a turn and lock it. Open cable adjuster till you have 1/16 \\; to \\;1/8" free play at lever and lock it. works every time. \\; Doc
Your screwing in the adjuster screw two far before you back off 1/2 a turn. Back off your adjuster screw. Now start turning it in till you feel a pressure difference then back off 1/2 turn. Your clutch should grab now...Good luck...I just got finished going through this on my Dyna before I traded for the FLHR..It should be the same....Your clutch should grab now, and you can finish your adjustment with the cable.....Good luck......
When you talk about collapsing the cable do you mean till the clutch lever bottoms out on the bars, have done that. loosened the lock nut turned adj. screw in till I felt resistance and it moved the lever off the bar, then turned it back and locked it down. adjusted cable till appx 1/8" play, seemed like I was running out of thread to adjust with and when I tightened down lock nut on cable adj I was at the ends of the threads on the tranny side of adj. one tthing I didn\\;t do was sqeeze lever to set balls on ramp, confussed on when to do that, lever is bottomed out an bars from collapsing cable, right. I thought I did everything right and sstill can\\;t get it to go into a gear, have appx 1/6 - 1/8 movement in clutcch when I sqeeze clutch. Not sure what I am doing wrong.
I just got through adjusting my cable and all went well. Take all the slack out of your cable until clutch lever rests against your grip. Loosen nut, back adjusting screw out just a little and then start turning it back in until you feel some resistance, you will start to see the clutch lever moving back to its original position, back screw out 1/2 turn, hold it there and tighten locknut back down. Then go to cable and take out all the slack except for about 1/8" at the clutch purch. You can pump the clutch lever a few times and then check your 1/8" adjustment again. At that point you reinstall the derby cover and you should be good to go. This is the method the service manual and all the videos say it should be done.
FWIW, be sure to get the lock nut tight. \\; I had one to back off about a year ago. \\; I knew what it was when it happened but didn't have what I needed with me to fix it so I called HOG and got it towed to the closest dealer. \\; When I picked it up I was asking the service manager if he'd ever seen that happen before. \\; His answer was " A properly torqued fastener will never come loose". \\; So why sell Loctite, lock washers. lock nuts, etc.
I asked him how long he'd been around "Milwaukee vibrators"? \\; He was a fairly young guy to be a service manager. \\; To be, his answer sounded like something he'd been taught in "how to be a service manager" class.
I did ask my regular dealer if he'd seen this happen. \\; He said they'd seen it a few times and they usually put a few drop of Blue Loctite on the nut.
I've only had this happen once and have not had a problem since. \\; Just a F-Y-I.

You're only adjusting the cable. \\; You need to release *all* tension on the cable, open the derby cover, &\\; adjust the clutch actuator rod on the clutch. \\; That's the lock nut &\\; adjustment you bottom out gently, then back off 1/2 turn. \\; Get that correct, lock the nut on that adjuster, then adjust the cable. \\; BTW, don't over tighten the lock nuts on the cable housing. \\; Break one of those housings &\\; you get to buy a new cable........... \\; Good luck!

Remember, "No good deed goes unpunished"
Bottoming out is the wrong term. That infers turning it all the way in until you can't turn it anymore. \\; \\; .When you loosen the jam nut on the screw that is in the center of your clutch pack, the allen screw in the center will turn very freely. you turn it in until you feel it make contact with the, for the lack of a better word, \\; "pressure plate".After that back it up a half a turn or so and lock it down.  \\; Then readjust your cable and you'll be good to go. Bottoming out is what got you messed up. \\; Screwing that screw all the way in until it's bottomed out is the same thing as squeezing your clutch lever. You can do it, I know you can, you just went a little too far. \\; Stafford

Peppa1 just a typo I am sure but maybe he is getting confused. You say take all the slack out of the cable till it rest against your grip....this \\;should be introduce enough slack to get the lever against the grip... Take all slack out will give you full lever away from grip. Ya ya ya I know too damn picky....ride on wit your bad self!
