Which is more accurate? The speed that my GPS is reporting, or the speed that my odometer is reporting? My car reports something like 120km/h while my GPS (I've tried 2 different ones) reports 115km/h...
Both. 5km is roughly 3 mph. If you give either one 1/2 the difference, they would both be off by roughly 1.5 mph. Generally speaking, that's pretty close considering your traveling 120kph/75mph. If it really has to be perfect, get your speedo calibrated.
It doesn't have to be perfect, I was just curious as to why there was a difference. It may be more than 5km/h difference, but if you said thats normal, then its ok. I've just been trying to figure out where to lock the cruise in at... the odo or the gps reported speed. I generally went with the GPS speed thinking that it would be most accurate...
Are your tires a different size than what the car came with? How old are they? Is the psi at the manufaturers specs \\;or what the sidewall says in the max? There are alot of reasons why your speedo could be off.

I'm not much with technology, I know my GPS measures 1mph slower than my car. I'm not sure how accurate the GPS is because I'm not sure how it measures the speed. It's an interesting question, I always set my cruise at 3 miles over the limit. I can't see being pulled over for it, yet I still get the feeling that I'm getting there faster. Hope the links help, I learned something.

If it were a military GPS satellite system you were using then I'd say it would more accurate...

Civilian GPS who knows...
