Default Drew my gun on a LEO today...

Me and two buddys were shooting at the lake where we all shoot out side the city limits when a LEO showed up and asked us to leave. He&nbsp\\;ID'd us&nbsp\\;and found we were all military.&nbsp\\; He asked to see my gun, so I unholstered it nervously and handed it over.&nbsp\\;He complimented my glock and then pulled his glock out to show it off. I was shocked!&nbsp\\;We then followed him to the department range where he let us shoot all the rounds we had.&nbsp\\; Gotta love Georgia.

Damnit, man. You had me going there for a minute......
Certainly sounded like a friendly COP.
Always good to meet one of them.
But did he let you shoot his, or breakout any of the really cool guns?

I thought you were in jail or just released. Good to hear about a decent LEO.

He didn't bring anything cool out, but I was only there to get practice with the new glock.&nbsp\\; The guys I was with were being crazy and wasting ammo, wich is fun, but i was more about the tactics today.&nbsp\\; The glock makes me HATE my taurus 85ul.
&nbsp\\;
Coolest cop I have ever met!

Man, you know how to write a subject line. I would like to believe most LEOs are cool.

I would too, but thats like saying all military members are "cool"... I know that some aren't (mainly my boss).
The subject line did get attention, I hope it wasn't offensive to any LEO's here.

No offense taken, but it damn sure got my attention!!!
&nbsp\\;
A parallel story:&nbsp\\; When I was stationed in Frankfurt Germany, an aquaintance ended up be-friending the range master for the Frankfurt PD.&nbsp\\; We&nbsp\\; (3 or 4 of us) ended up being able to go to their indoor range about once every month or so.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; Neatest range I have ever shot at. You were firing at a large paper movie screen, and shown upon it was a scenario, that the controller could change the outcome of, dependant upon your commands, your actions, etc.&nbsp\\; Also, it was back-lit, so you could see where your rounds struck.
&nbsp\\;
So, I would guess that a person can run into cool Cops world-wide !!

Sounds like a cool range. The one we went to was a clearing in the woods filled with shin level brush, snakes, and a big dirt mound for a backstop.&nbsp\\; Beats going to jail though!&nbsp\\;

It was absolutely bad assed......and indoor range, in the basement of a Mall!!!&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; The scenarios were ran on laser-disc (this was pre computer), and the controllers could listen in to the commands you were giving your suspects, and they were able to change how the scenario unfolded, based upon the commands you gave.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
Wish we could have gone more, but we were grateful for the time we got to spend there !!&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; Of course, we never told the chain of command what we were doing !!

Sounds kinda like the FATS Trainer, or a "Shoot, Don't Shoot" type simulator. Very cool, no matter what it's called....
