Default feakin leakin primaries

My 71 xlch primary case seems to have an uncurable leak.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; I tried the 030 gasket with permatex 3 with no luck.&nbsp\\; My EVO sporty leaked like this as well...it leaks right near that little screw near the kick stand...seems like HD put a lot of screws up top but not enough at the bottom where you need them....I'm guessing I need to have the cover planed level.&nbsp\\; A polishing table would work for this.&nbsp\\; Any ideas out there on this...I fixed my EVO sporty using a rubber gasket.&nbsp\\; I have not seem a rubber gasket for my 71 ironhead though

Maybe the cover has a small crack that you can't see, or it has become porous. If it's leaking near that little screw by the kickstand which I'm guessing is the fill level hole, the wrong size plug could have been put in there and it cracked the case. A good gasket is all you should really need to seal the cover to the case even if it's not perfectly flat.

They can also leak through the screws holes.&nbsp\\; I have to put some permatex in and around the lower 3 screw holes, but on the the case itself.

Stripped fill level plug (the bolt by the kickstand)..............A COMMON THING caused by idiots who don't realise how to tighten a plug in "thin" ALUMINUM cases...........leaks all down the side everytime.
