Default Bold jackshaft size for compu-fire

hello,

I had bought a new starter. It's not the last compu-fire starter, but a 1.5kw genII model. It's a new one never used.
the starter is made for a 94 and later model.its starter number is 022511. My bike is 1997 flht engine 96ci, It's writing on the starter fits 94 and later.

1997 bold jackshaft is&nbsp\\; 3/16" = 4.75mm .

The thread in the hole inside the splined end of the compu-fire 94 and later drive shaft starter is 1/4-20. Normaly it's 93 and before starter.
I hav contacted Compu-fire, but they don't give me a respond to my problem!
How can I put a 3/16 bold in a 1/4-20 hole. What can I do? Can I drill a larger hole in the jackshaft to put a 1/4 bold? willthe jackshaft&nbsp\\; be strong enough with a larger hole.

thanks for your answer , help and suggestions.
regards
dider
