Default Direct Drive Primary vs. Compensator system

Looking for opinions on replacing compensated system with a driect drive.

The BDL primary chain drive kit I got just has a 25 T sprocket. Looks like it bolts straight up to the engine shaft.

Some of the newer bikes look like they are going to this system to account for lugging in 6th gear. Evidently there is some HP to be gained as well.

My bike is an 87 Softail and I am also installing a 6 speed. Not too concern with the gear ratios.

Looking more for comments on driveability vibration, potential downsides, etc....

Thanks, in advance.

I took out the comp and put in the EVO 30 tooth sprocket and don't have any issues.&nbsp\\; There is a slight more vibration but I don't really feel it and am already used to it.

Downside: more wear, more primary chain adjustment when there's no longer anything to compensate for the torque of the engine slamming into the primary drive.

I put the 30T direct on my 06 dyna.&nbsp\\; There are a couple of downsides, but the upside which is most important to me is that it puts a smile on my face everytime I&nbsp\\;open her up!&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;
