Default Volatge Regulator

74 XLH not charging. While looking into it I find I have thje wrong regulator on the bike.
I should have a 74510-64 , 67 up XLH. Someone mounted a 74511-65, 65 up XLCH and 65 &amp\\; 66 XLH. I now have the correct one but I see all the wiring tabs are marked differently. I thought I could just swap it without trying to compare wiring diagrams. Is there a trick I am not seeing or should I bite the bullet and point to point the wiring. It appears to be all original wires, cloth jacketed stuff. Faded colors as well as paint on some wires is making this a challenge. Can anyone cross the tabs on the older reg. to the newer for me?
I picked this ride up a couple of months ago for a project and I am still getting to know her. So far so good. Runs strong, needs lot of cleaning. &nbsp\\;Any help appreciated.

Default RE: Volatge Regulator

This is the only way I know to help you. The connections of the two regulators are as follows:
B+ is the same as BAT and connects to...... the battery + post and the ignition switch.
D+ is the same as GEN and connects to..... the 'A' post on the generator.
DF is the same as F and connects to........... the 'F' post on the generator.

You can use either voltage regulator on your machine............pg
