Default How do I install front brake pads?

I have a 1976 ironhead.&nbsp\\; Front pads need replaced, I got some kavlar pads.&nbsp\\; After I took apart I noticed that the pads need riveted to the back caliper and to a bracket with&nbsp\\; hollow rivets.&nbsp\\; How do you install these rivets?&nbsp\\; Thanks for your help as always.

Default RE: How do I install front brake pads?

You would be better off not using those Kevlar pads on a street bike. They are designed to work best when they are really heated up, plus they will take a toll on the rotor. Composite or semi-metallic pads will help you stop better in everyday cruising, plus you don't have to deal with the rivets coming loose if you do not have the proper tools for the job. The Kevlars are nice if you do a lot of front wheelstands though.
