Default Dyno test problems FBW throttle control 2008

My dealer wants to dyno my bike in its present set-up (stock with XIED's), not only with WOT but also diffeent throttle positions. The tuner says he can only test with the use of powercommander because the FBW throttle control seems to have a live of its own, he cannot fix the throttle position and with WOT the butterfly vaklve closes up at high rpm's. It seems to me that applying the PCIII should not be necessary. Any suggestions to resolve my tuners problems?

80% and 100% throttle will open at it's respective TP at 3000 rpms so start your run at 3000 rpm and all will be fine.&nbsp\\;All the&nbsp\\;other TP %are no problem. I never seen or heard of a tuner having to use a PCIII to make part throttle test before.

Just to put it in perspective cruising at a constant speed in 6th gear at 60 mph is about 1% more throttle than 55 mph and 1% less than 65 mph. He sounds a bit obsessive. Just how precisely does he feel he needs to control the throttle and for what purpose?

Your "Tuner" doesn't seem to understand the system very well....
&nbsp\\;
As Doc pointed out, the TBW system will not go to 80-100% until 3kRPM.....
&nbsp\\;
The Throttle plate is controlled by the MAP Sensor and the Twist grip actuator....
&nbsp\\;
SEST maps are updated to allow the plate to open at 2250 RPM for 80-100%....
&nbsp\\;
Suggest to your "Tuner" to have the DTII attached to the bike, to monitor the throttle position....
&nbsp\\;
I have tuned quite a few 08 TBW's, and have not had any problems with it having a "Life of it's own"....
&nbsp\\;
Lastly, Welcome aboard... Please take a moment to post an intro in the NEW MEMBERS SECTION at your earliest...

@lilybud

tuner wants to measure effect of XIED's in closed loop mode, or so he told me.

@Doc1 Posted the story about the dyno results in the XIED field test thread. Tuner did not use the the PCIII but used scananalyzer and looked at voltages for throttle position instead of percentages.
