Default too much trans fluid????

Drained the oil and tranny at the same time, after reaching normal temperature and draining on the jiffy stand.&nbsp\\; I put 1 quart in and when I check the tranny fluid with the threads just touching, It is like a 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch over the mark.&nbsp\\; What am I missing here?&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
I read where it is not a good thing to have too much fluid in the tranny????

Default RE: too much trans fluid????

Stand the bike upright..... The Trans case and drain plug are parallel to the ground....
&nbsp\\;
Did you drain 1 qt out of the trans..... No....
&nbsp\\;
Drain EVERYTHING out of the transmission, WHILE the bike is UPRIGHT......
&nbsp\\;
Then refill with 32 oz....
&nbsp\\;
