I had a similar problem with a sportster. It had a short in the wires under the seat and hard acceleration depressed the seat and pressed the bare wire to ground. \\;\\\\\\; Circuit breaker would trip and reset once the pressure was off the wire.

+1 I've seen similar on a lot of my shovels. \\; First and foremost, ground wire to battery and frame, pull it off completely. \\; Clean the frame mount with fine emery cloth or similar to get good contact. \\; Clean each end of the terminal cable until they are shining and clean. \\; Clean the battery terminal and bolt everything back together. \\; See if that cures it. \\; If not, move to the positive side (after you disconnect the ground, of course) and do the same thing. \\; If it still happens after that, sounds like a loose or broken wire. \\; These can sometimes be tricky to find. \\; I had one where the terminal end was broken, but seated itself so well, you would never know. \\; Put the bike under load, it would die. \\; Restart it and it idles fine, pull away in gear, dead again. \\; Found it by gently moving the wires around, off it came. \\; My bet is on the battery or the fuse blocks on the fender, something is loose, allowing it to short out and kick the breaker or opening the circuit.
