Default Bike Tipped Over in Wake of FedEx Truck

Attending the S&amp\\;\\\\\\;S Cycle 50th Anniversary this weekend. I parked my '01 Ultra safely on Front St. in La Crosse.&nbsp\\;I walked around the grounds a while and then the skies opened up and the whole damn Oktoberfest Grounds began running water. What I didn't know until a Good Samaritan came in announcing the bad news was that water was running up to a foot deep on Front St and it was rising. By the time I got there to join the people who were shoving everybike they could to higher ground, I saw my Ultra laying air cleaner side down in almost two feet of water.&nbsp\\;Manhole covers were blown off and water was shooting up out of the street and the sewers.

After we got all the bikes we could to higher ground (those with out locked forks) I found out that a Fed Ex truck had knocked over&nbsp\\;more than&nbsp\\;a dozen motorcycles by charging through the water. I guess his next delivery was a helluva lot more important to him than our motorcycles were.
&nbsp\\;
My Tour Pak was almost full of water. Right side saddle bag was full. Water pumped out of the spark plug holes when I cranked the engine over. The electronics were doing all kinds of goofy ****.&nbsp\\; dried&nbsp\\;everything best I could, installed a new ECM, nothing was going to get the bike running and it had to be trailered home.&nbsp\\;There's water in my brand new tach and guages that I installed just last Sunday when I put my new Hog Tunes speakers and amplifier in. I'm sure that's all junk too. Leather jacket and my IPod were also soaked.&nbsp\\;All in all, it's been a real **** weekend and it's only Saturday.

I would like to publicly thank the people at CenturyTel in Wisconsin. What a great bunch of people. They were going inside to get towels and tools and offered any assistance they could to help all of us who were swamped. They also provided us with a picture of the FedEx truck plowing through the water generating a huge wake.

I was going to keep this Ultra until I died or gave up riding. Now, I'm not sure I want it anymore.

Dude that completely sucks. I certainly think twice before I go blasting through water in a car ever again. Not sure it would get any results but I'd certainly be getting with Fedex and have a talk with them over that picture.&nbsp\\;

Fed ex and there people and insurance company would be getting a call from me thats for sure with the picture and all the people that saw it happen they are responsible.&nbsp\\; Have them fix the bike or total loss it and get a new one for the rest of your riding days.
&nbsp\\;
Sucks to hear man let us know how it works out.

Sorry for the bad luck. If you got the pictures and names of witnesses I'd make a run at FedEx to see if they'll offer a settlement.&nbsp\\; There was a thread on here a while back where a guy fixed his Sportster after it had been underwater&nbsp\\;in New Orleans.&nbsp\\; It took a lot of work and new parts but he got it running.&nbsp\\; Good luck.&nbsp\\;

Sorry to hrar of your problems.If you got contact info of other bikers and pictures of him driving thru the water and all the bikes laid over because of his actions. Some eye witness testimony would be nice as well. Hit fedex up for damages and if they refuse. everybody get and&nbsp\\; file a Class action against them. They got deep pockets and will settle out of court.&nbsp\\;

If you have pics and witnesses, I'll bet Fed Ex will take care of it. They have a pretty good rep and I hope it works out for you.

Not to make light of this, but there is some irony here when you read your screen name, Bigwave916

Damn, sorry to hear this, I hope everthing turns out OK.&nbsp\\; As long as you have witnesses and pics&nbsp\\;I'll bet Fed-Ex won't want the negative PR and you may get a whole new bike.&nbsp\\; Good luck
