Anyone know of any Alcohol Free riders or groups that ride In Northern Illinois and or the SW Burbs of Chicago?
The folks I ride with now are Great people and Fairly responsable drinkers, However, every ride involves Hitting the Bars. Tired of bar hopping, interested in some meaningful rides.[&:]
I wouldn't say I am alchohol free but if I am riding solo I seldom stop at any bars unless I am going to get something to eat. I prefer to ride without stopping every 10-15 miles at a bar. On the other hand \\;everyone I have met on this forum are good people \\;and you can have a pretty good time riding with them if you stop at a bar you can \\;always have a coke and still be in good company. Usually when riding with them \\;We do a 100- to 150 mile days with \\;Bigdog's group. \\;However if I want to just spend the day riding I will go \\;solo and \\;put in a 300 mile plus day. \\;You are always welcome to tag along if you want. \\;
Thanks for the invite! I'm also not 100% non drinker, I do enjoy a cold one with a bite to eat or if sticking around for a while. It's the 10 to 15 miles riding from \\;watering hole to watering hole, that gets a bit old. With the midwest winter we all just went through, It's a cryin shame to sit in a dimly lit \\;tavern with such great riding weather, or to scream along being the fastest thing going dow the highway to an outdoor event, to stand around pounding beers....
 \\;
If you hook up with some of the Westgate ABATE peeps, most are staunch anti-drinkers. When they first formed they wanted non-drinker requirement in their charter. It was, of course, denied. That would be akin to excluding hispanics or women or whatever, plain discrimination. Another suggestion would be to hook up with GWRRA chapters, a good frind of mine used to be president of IL Z-2 and their rides don't include alcohol stops. Too many Ice Cream stops maybe, but few, if any, alcohol stops. Gold Wing riders put many many more miles on than HD riders.
I'll ride with you anytime. \\; I cant stand hopping from bar to bar. \\; Its a waste of time IMO. \\; I'm southwest of Joliet but I ride in that area all the time. \\; I grew up on South side of Chgo.
Check out the Motley Bikers:White Trash Circus rides. There's some nice rides with about 40-50 miles between stops. While we stop at bars, it's to eat with usually another stop for a cold drink your choice. We're going to Savanna Saturday.
