This morning I went out for a ride to visit Travis. It was about 85 and I was sweating a little. I had on my memorial vest that is made out of leather and it always makes me hotter. As sweat was running down my face, I told him that I was going to ride and cool down some. I then thought to myself how lame I was. When he was in Kanduhar, it would get up to 115-120 degrees or more. I thought how lame I was to be commenting about how hot it was when he had it worse than I do. So next time I feel the heat or somebody else comments about the heat, how would you like to trade places with the boys in the sandbox? We don't have it so bad after all, do we?
Yeah, we're spoiled alright, add to the heat being in a strange land and getting shot at and IED's. It's a brave bunch of soldiers over there. God bless em
Just back this minute from a local ride. Just opened a frost brown bottle and sititng back reading your post. I rode in jeans and t shirt and was bitching to myself as i drove over the heat and sweating. Thanks for bringing back to reality and what some of our boys and sons and daughters are doing. God Bless your Son and all the troops over there.

There are a lot of us concerned for all the young people overseas. Our brace of politicians make it even harder to take.Hot weather? I dred it every season, for 2 reasons,1, Job requires Fire retartant clothing and rubber gloves,2,no relief riding in sticky weather.
Good point Springer! \\; We can become pretty self involved at times and forget about what they boys go thru over there.
On a side note....my best friend Jen was married to a man from Pakistan. \\; He hadn't been back to Pakistan in 11 years and went back to visit. \\; I remember his commenting on the heat. \\; He said he never remembered it being so hot when he was a kid but now he could couldn't stand to be out of the air conditioning himself.

Springer, sorta ironic, i was thinking the same thing the other day about our guys, and gals , the heat, dust, ect, I"m glad i did, and i'm glad others have them on their minds as well, 85, it's nothing compaired to what they have to go through.
Don't sweat it Springer, \\;we all tend to bitch a little bit on occasion. \\;Thats why I love going to Walter Reed. The attitudes that most of those young men have makes me ashamed of how ungrateful I can be at times. As bad as I think I have it \\;sometimes, in reflection I find I \\;have been a \\;truly \\;blessed man.
