Default Any coin collectors??

I have a $5 gold coin in mint condition from the 1800's. Can anybody tell me a value of this coin and where might be a good honest place to try to sell.

Hello:
&nbsp\\;
I am a collector but cant afford GOLD. Look around for a Coin Club in your area and go and contact one of the members they can give you an idea of what it's value might be. You can go to a Coin Shop and try there but they are in business to make money so caution. My Red Book does not cover Gold Coins that old. There are a lot of Coin Forums on the net post a photograph and as for information about the coin. There are a lot of Fake coins around so keep that in mind.
Good luck with you quest.

You're question is far too broad.&nbsp\\; The specific date and mintmark (if any) is a must.&nbsp\\; Also condition&nbsp\\;is a very important part of the equation.&nbsp\\; Can you post images (good quality) of the obverse and reverse (front and back, sorry).&nbsp\\; If so, I'll take a look for you.&nbsp\\; As far as selling the coin, take it to at least three different (if possible) dealers in your area and see what you get for prices.&nbsp\\; Remember, a dealer will always offer you about 15-20% less than book value (he/she has to make a living).&nbsp\\;
