If you run the same pipes will the 1200&nbsp\\; sound the same as a 883?

Probably a little louder.I have a 06'883C &amp\\; my bud has a 04'1200C. I have Cycle Shacks &amp\\; he has Teds,his is a little deeper and louder.They are almost the same pipe as far as looks go.My bike sounds very nice IMO,neither is better or worse in our opinions.He is always saying how sweet my scoot sounds now that&nbsp\\;I did stage 1.Kinda like her balls dropped if you get my jist?

i imagine it would be louder. more compression out the exhuast of the same size.


you ever noticed how your engine is way louder under load then revving in neutral? its becuase you have a lot of compression happening&nbsp\\; and it comes out with more force.

I have Rush 2" on my 883. My wife has Screamin' Eagle on her 1200. The 883 is louder and I think her 1200 would be louder than mine if she had Rush slip-ons. She isn't interested in getting different pipes right now.

I have Bassani ProStreets on my 883R and IMO, my bike sounds as good as any Big Twin.
The Bassani's really have a great sound - sounds like a big block muscle car.

I always get a kick out of starting my 883 with the choke just about half out. The idle loops making it sound like a hugh cam is in it along with other goodies.&nbsp\\;

The 1200 engine has more displacement in each cylinder, higher compression, and the heads and cams flow more fuel mixture into each cylinder.

During each exhaust cycle more exhaust is flowing into each header/exhaust pipe.
&nbsp\\;
All things being equal, the 2 engines will not sound the same with the identical exhaust system installed.&nbsp\\; (It might be close, but a trained ear will notice a difference in the exhaust tone).

My trained ear says my 1200C sounds better than everyone elses cause its mine. Nuff said.
