Just helped a lady friend pick up her 1st HD, a 2004 1200 Custom and the lady we purchased from husband was on the road traveling at the time and all the manuals, extra parts etc. were in the attic so we have to wait for him to get home to get those. Can you tell me how much oil goes in the oil tank and how much goes in the primary ? Thanks

Engine oil change is 3 quarts max. including the 4 oz. that go into the filter before installation. The manual lists the quantity as 3.6 quarts but this is for a factory new engine only, not an oil change.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; The primary/tranny takes 1 quart (32 oz.) and I recommend a 75-90 gear oil here like Mobil-1 75w-90 Gear Oil.

Thanks cHarley for the info. I use the Mobil 1 in my 08 Ultra. It's the only way to go IMO.
