Default 08 nightster break in question..

I have a 08 nightster with a thundermax, stage 1 air cleaner, and a v&h exhaust. It's got about 300 miles on it and the engine light still comes on if I stay at a constant spend for more then 15 mins. I kept it slow for the first 50 miles or so and not terrible faster after that. Am I breaking it in right?

i don't think that the engine light should be coming on at all when riding.
&nbsp\\;
i'd take a spin by the selling dealer and let them know it's doing this.&nbsp\\; they'll read the code from the speedo and let you know what's up.

I have 730 miles on my 08 Nightster and have never had the check engine light come on once and I am running a Heavy Breather, Short Shots and a PC III USB. I would get it checked out.

I think I"d take it in too. I have about 350 miles on mine with heavy breather, short shots, and fuel pak.

You need to go into your basic settings and up the Engine Temp Threshold Alarm to about 350 degrees.&nbsp\\; The sensor on our bikes is buried a lot further in to the head than most bikes so it reads higher.&nbsp\\; It's probably set at 315-325 stock.&nbsp\\; Try it and let me know if it fixed the problem.&nbsp\\;

I've got about 2000 miles on my Nightster, and I have never seen the engine light come on.&nbsp\\; You've got a brand new bike, have the dealer check it out for you.
