Default DYNO TUNE ??? 04 883 converted to 1200

I just put 800 miles on my 1200 conversion kit (WiseCo Kit).
&nbsp\\;
I added the D&amp\\;D FatCat 2n1, stage one kit and the 10.5 1200conversion.
&nbsp\\;
Should I have the Dyno Tune done for my 2004 Sporty.. It is a Carburated bike.
&nbsp\\;
Just wondering.

I have an 06 883l and i had the 1200 kit installed as well.&nbsp\\; Have about 2000 miles on it since the conversion and i did not put it on a dyno.&nbsp\\; I asked the indie shop that did the work if i should have it dyno'd and they thought it was not necessary.&nbsp\\; I only had the basic conversion done so that may be why.&nbsp\\; the biked is tuned perfectly by the way.. at least it feels that way to me!

Rob,
&nbsp\\;
Thanks, I am a newbie so I have no idea how to tell if it is perfectly tuned etc...&nbsp\\; As usual the Stealers are telling me to get it done,,, at $142.00 and hour, for about 1.5 hours.&nbsp\\; Hell they want 380.50 just to put on my new front and rear wheels....

It'll be cheaper &amp\\;\\\\\\; a potentially better tune if you find a good indy in the area to do it.....Take your parts list too, so he'll have an idea of where to start.

I don't know of anyway to verify that your bike is 'tuned perfectly' unless someone that knows what they are doing performs a good dyno tune.
&nbsp\\;
You can get it tuned very well by tooking up some gauges and having the A/F mixture optimized throughout the operating range, but even that won't take the place of a dyno tune when it comes to fine tuning&nbsp\\;a specific bike.
&nbsp\\;
My EFI Softail FatBoy has intake and exhaust modifications, and it also has a Screamin' Eagle Race Tuner installed.&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
When the SERT was installed a new 'factory program' was downloaded, which was suppost to provide the best performance results for the combination I was running.
&nbsp\\;
The bike ran like a champ, no problems at all, but when I had someone that knew what they were doing put it on a dyno and fine tune everything we ended up gaining an additional 8 horsepower.

right... which is why i wrote "at least it feels that way to me".
&nbsp\\;
I fully understand that a dyno will get out every ounce of horsepower across the rev range.&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
my point was. it feels good to me and my very reputable indie advised me that it wasn't necessary to dyno... so i was trying to explain to modee that it isn't absolutely critical that it's done if it feels like it's running good.

Indy or Indie = Independent motorcycle mechanic...aka...not the HD Dealership&nbsp\\;but more of&nbsp\\;a custom&nbsp\\;shop.&nbsp\\;
